About the Acts:
ESCORT
Brooklyn-based contemporary disco band Escort was founded by Dan Balis and Eugene Cho. Known for their modern and live dance music sound, Escort’s live performances feature a 17 piece line-up.
Despite being a self-proclaimed disco band they “are very careful to make music that doesn’t just sound and feel old, but is actually relevant for DJs and listeners today.” Their first single “Starlight” was a critical success, which led to the band being invited to make their live debut at the P.S.1 Warm Up series. A flash mob of 300 dancers coordinated a group dance to Escort’s remix of Feist’s “I Feel It All” in the Eaton Center in Toronto for International Dance Day. Escort’s “Starlight” was even featured in DSW’s (Designer Shoe Warehouse) fall 2013 commercial, “Savvy Shoe Lovers.”
FRENCH HORN REBELLION
French Horn Rebellion are brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari. In 2007, younger brother Robert was playing French horn in the Chicago Civic Orchestra, and decided to make hot beats instead. After telling the conductor that Mahler isn’t fun anymore he asked his bassoon-toting brother, David to join with him. And so it was, a French Horn Rebellion began.
KAVIAR DISCO CLUB
Kaviar Disco Club, or New York City’s Travmatic and Beto Cravioto, started as a collaboration at smaller venues such as Happy Ending and Hotel Chantelle in the summer of 2011. The “deep house disco funk” that KaviarDiscoClub play and produce quickly found a following and KDC has been moving up into some of the NYC’s finest clubs, such as subMercer and the top of the Standard, at Le Bain. Their sound has attracted big guns like Jesse Rose, Teki Latex, Tanner Ross, Simian Mobile Disco, Club Cheval, Slow Hands and many others to join them at the decks for a night. Their remixes and productions have also been gaining attention with details on a debut EP coming soon. In the mean time you can listen to their mix for Scion A/V Radio with Night People here.
