There’s loads of history packed into the Rock N’Blues Fest tour. Brothers Johnny and Edgar Winter helped keep hard-rockin’ blues alive in the ‘70s where mellow rock and disco prevailed. Along with releasing his own albums, Johnny Winter worked with bluesman Muddy Waters on 3 of his albums, including 1977’s Grammy-winning “Hard Again.”

Younger brother Edgar Winter has achieved music greatness as well. His 1972 album, “They Only Come Out At Night” introduced him to new fans with songs including “Free Ride,” “Hanging Around” and his mega-hit instrumental “Frankenstein” which dominated radio stations’ playlists.

Also on the bill is Rick Derringer, who played with Edgar Winter on “They Only Come Out At Night” and saw his own album, “All-American Boy” go Gold with the single “Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo” which also included a guest spot by Edgar. Before garnering the gold, Derringer’s first time in the spotlight was when he was a teen abd fronted Indiana-based band The McCoys, sining lead on the chart-topping hit, “Hang On Sloopy.”

Leslie West brings his own celebrated legacy to this tour, including his years with Mountain as well as numerous collaborations and solo projects. Leslie appeared on the last US Led Zeppelin tour and has worked with artists ranging from Alice Cooper to “Weird Al” Yankovic to Todd Rundgren, as well as both Winter Brothers. He’s also a proud veteran of Ringo Starr’s All-Starr Band.

A key player in British blues, Kim Simmonds has led the group Savoy Brown through dozens of member changes, but has always retained the reputation as one of the leading bands rocking out the blues. Simmonds recently celebrated the band’s 45th anniversary in 2011 with the release of “Voodoo Moon.” His most recent solo album, 2009’s "Out Of The Blue features a dynamic array of material showcases Kim’s talents as a singer/songwriter.
