ABOUT THE ARTISTS…

RACHELLE FERRELL:
Rachelle Ferrell began singing at age 6, which may have contributed to the development of her amazing six plus octave range. Her remarkable range also includes the ability to sing her highest notes in the “whistle register.” As a child, she also received classical training in violin and by her teen years she was playing piano at a professional level. While still a teen, she began performing professionally, accompanying herself on piano, singing both pop and jazz songs, and writing much of her material herself. Enrolled in Boston’s Berklee College of Music, she further developed her skills in singing, arrangement and songwriting. Besides her success as a jazz singer, Rachelle is also well respected in pop, R&B, gospel, and classical music in both the US and Japan. As an accomplished pianist, she has worked with Lou Rawls, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Williams, and the late, great George Duke. Known for her unique vocal stylings and no two performances being exactly alike, Rachelle’s live shows are always entertaining and high energy, with skillful improvisation delving far beyond her original recordings.

RAHSAAN PATTERSON
Longtime fans have watched Rashaan Patterson grow from the skinny, wide-eyed boy with the big eyes and bigger voice on the classic children’s show “Kids Incorporated” to one of the most influential yet underrated soul men on the planet. (His career is riddled with paradox and irony.) We’ve watched him sport blonde-streaked hair and cutting edge fashions while strolling through European-set music videos, and then hung on to his every note in clubs and concert halls around the globe as he, shorn of hair and clad in the simplest of gear, bled out in song—joy, pain, longing, despair, ecstasy. We’ve kept track of the Who’s Who of talented folks he’s written and produced for and with (from pop diva Brandy to fellow under-sung MVP Van Hunt), with whom he’s collaborated (Ledisi, Lalah Hathaway) and of the icons who have sung his praises (the awesome Chaka Khan) and ushered him into the hall of the greats.
